What To Do When You're Tired

I am tired.

In the past week I ran a 5K race, published 5 blog posts, responded to all of the comments, worked out several times, completed around 40 hours of client work, continued to market the book my partner & I wrote, and attempted to be a decent mother to my 2 1/2 year old daughter. Oh, and I also MOVED.

I am tired.

So tired that I don't feel like writing this post.

One of my blogging "pet peeves" is when people write about how they don't feel like writing. I never thought I would do it. But seriously? My eyes are glazing over. I can think of only one message to send today:

When you're tired, REST.

What do "good girls" do? Keep going until they pass out. Cut back on sleep. Forget to eat. Put themselves at the bottom of the totem pole. Take care of everyone else's needs first.

Yeah. Stop doing that.

I'm talking to myself here too, of course. I felt those urges rising up. I started to make myself feel guilty about not writing a "real" post for today's Bad Girls' Guide to Business entry. I told myself to push harder. I told myself I could wait another hour to eat.

But I can't. So I won't.

See you tomorrow.

As always, please share your thoughts in the comments. And don't forget to subscribe (enter your e-mail address in the box to your right) to be notified as soon as new posts are published.

You can "forget" to eat? Teach me how.
;-)

You do need to rest. So I hope you are doing that NOW. Just reading this exhausted me! Take care of yourself, Traci. You are worth it & you deserve it!

Ah, but Traci, this DOES fit with your Bad Girls Guide to Biz theme, because you're doing the opposite of what a good girl would do - you're stopping and resting! Rock on! (or sleep on...)

Thanks, Dana. I'm officially counting this post as one of the #badgirlbiz series!

You inspired me to sleep instead of work last night. :)

Perfect, Kate. Let's keep paying it forward so all the overworked women out there can get a good night's rest!
